Bullet Train Project: Over Rs 14,000 Crore Spent So Far In Gujarat For Mumbai – Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail

The Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail corridor (MAHSR) project will entail an investment of Rs 72,000 crore in Gujarat in both Land and construction. So far, an expenditure of Rs 14,200 crore has been done.

Mumbai – Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (MAHSR) project is a 508 km long first High-Speed Rail (HSR) network under execution in India. Out of 508 km, 352 km lies in Gujarat (348 km), and Dadra and Nagar Haveli (four km) and balance 156 km lies in Maharashtra.

The construction work is in progress in Gujarat and Dadra & Nagar Haveli, where 98 per cent and 100 per cent land has been acquired, respectively. In Maharashtra, land acquisition done so far is 40 per cent.

In Gujarat, HSR alignment passes through eight districts i.e. Valsad, Navsari, Surat, Bharuch, Vadodara, Anand, Kheda and Ahmedabad. Work is in progress in all eight districts.

According to NHSRCL, this project will generate direct and indirect employment of 60,000 in Gujarat alone.
