Indian Railways To Run Four More ‘Shri Ramayana Yatra’ Special Trains From Madurai, Pune, Shri Ganganagar and Ahmedabad

The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) is planning to run four more Ramayana Circuit Special Trains to promote religious tourism.

These trains will run in addition to the first announced train, which will start its journey on 7 November, reports ANI.

The additional trains will start from various cities including Madurai, Pune, Shri Ganganagar and Ahmedabad in the month of November and January.

According to the report, the first additional train will start on 16 November while the second and third trains will start on 25 November and 27 November respectively. The fourth train will start its journey on 20 January.

Earlier, this special train was operated in sleeper class only. However, the proposed first tour is going to be operated in a deluxe AC tourist train having first AC and second AC class coaches with a capacity of accommodating 156 tourists.

The fully air-conditioned train has enhanced security features of CCTV cameras and security guards for each coach.

IRCTC has launched this special tourist train in line with the Government of India initiative “Dekho Apna Desh” to promote domestic tourism.

The state-of-art deluxe AC tourist train will reportedly have a host of features including two fine dining restaurants, a modern kitchen, shower cubicles in coaches, sensor-based washroom functions and foot massager.

All additional trains will operate with sleeper and third AC class coaches. The package price of this tour is a minimum of Rs 7,560 and the maximum is Rs 16,065 only, according to an official statement.
