UAE’s National Advisor Bureau is exploring a concept to connect Mumbai and Fujairah trough under water rail, which will be 2000 Km long rail line, to be covered in mere 2 hours.

Abdulla Alshehhi, Director of UAE’s National Advisor Bureau Limited, speaking at UAE-India conclave, held in Abu-Dubai said, this line will not only facilitate movement people across Arabian sea, but will also have pipelines for oil and water, UAE will export oil to India and India can export fresh water to UAE, Khaleej Times Reported.

“This is a concept. We plan to connect Indian city of Mumbai with Fujairah through ultra-speed floating trains. The project aims to boost bilateral trade. There will be export of oil to India from Fujairah port and import of excess water from Narmada River, north of Mumbai. In addition, other GCC partners can also improve export and import,” Alshehhi told a gathering of businessmen and industry experts, as mentioned in the Khaleej Times.

This project still needs a feasibility study, under water rail tunnel held by floating pillars can pose unique challenges and several aspects of it needs serious consideration, Mr. Alshehhi added.

He also said, this will boost bi-lateral and trade relations with India and south Asian region, and the project also includes similar line to Karachi in Pakistan.
