Uttar Pradesh: 91 Km Gorakhpur Link Expressway Achieves Completion Of 99 Per Cent C&G Work

Gorakhpur Link Expressway that connects Gorakhpur with Purvanchal Expressway has achieved overall progress of 34 per cent.

 

The 91.35 km long Gorakhpur Link Expressway in Uttar Pradesh has reached overall progress of 34 per cent, and the remaining construction is going on at a fast pace.

While clearing and grubbing (C&G) in the main carriageway has completed 99 per cent of work, earthwork in the main carriageway has reached 55 per cent of completion level.

Granular Sub Base (GSB) and Wet Mix Macadam (WMM) works on the expressway have reached 29 per cent and 27 per cent, respectively.

Also, Dense Bituminous Macadam (DBM) work has reached 24 per cent, and 244 out of 337 structures on the expressway are complete.

The Gorakhpur Link Expressway begins at Jaitpur in Gorakhpur district, and it ends by merging with the Purvanchal expressway near Salarpur in Azamgarh district.

This expressway will be four lanes (expandable up to six lanes) with six lane-wide structures and passes through Gorakhpur, Azamgarh, Ambedkarnagar, Sant Kabir Nagar districts.

The approved project cost for this expressway, including land cost, is Rs 5876.67 crore.

The project has been divided into two packages for implementation with M/S APCO Infrastructure Pvt Ltd and M/S DilipBuildcon developing Package-1 and Package-2, respectively. The project is under implementation in Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) Mode.

As of 10th February 2022, 96.19 per cent of the required land for the project has been acquired.

Further, the Yogi Adityanath led Uttar Pradesh government plans to link this expressway to Varanasi with another link road.
