The Hanuman Mandir Complex at Connaught Place in the national capital will be redeveloped and beautified by the New Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC).

As a part of the project, the granite flooring and old tiles on the footpath of the complex of the Mandir will be replaced with the Jaisalmer marble cladding.

NDMC vice-chairperson Satish Upadhyay claimed that these development works are being undertaken under Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi’s Swacch Bharat Mission program.

“The old blocked drainage system will be replaced with a new drainage system and it will be covered with granite, there will be a modernised shoe house provision for devotees, the old tree guard will be replaced with stainless steel and drinking water will be provided to visitors 24×7,” Upadhyay was quoted in a report by the Indian Express.

Decorative lights and poles, and lanterns will be installed in the temple. Construction will be carried out to build a green toilet block for everyone, including the differently-abled people.

The NDMC will revamp the whole pipeline of the temple complex as it is also looking to put in place a sewage treatment plant over there.

Further, a feeding chamber, diaper changing amenities for babies and a sanitary vending machine for women will also be set up in the complex.

“Besides… efforts are being made to make the toilets 100 per cent green by saving and reusing water. There will also be a water cooler inside,” Upadhyay detailed the redevelopment plans further.
