A 7.2 km long six-lane elevated superhighway is set to be built on Kona Expressway at NH117 in West Bengal.
The work on the project, which has around 30-month deadline, is expected to be completed by early 2026.

The six-lane superhighway project was estimated to cost Rs 839.4 crore by NHAI.
RVNL won the contract for the project and will finish the construction within 910 days for Rs 720.6 crore.

RITES’ 2018 detailed project report proposed building a six-lane elevated viaduct supported by a single row of piers over congested areas such as Santragachhi’s bus terminus, railway station, Shibpur, Canal Side Road, and Carrie Road junction, reports Economic Times.
