With a focus to transform Ayodhya into a model temple town before the Ram Temple opens its doors to devotees in 2024, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday inaugurated 44 projects worth Rs 212.5 crore.
Additionally, he initiated the groundwork for 38 projects valued at Rs 1,763.2 crore.
The government is ensuring that the city is developed as a modern yet traditional and culturally rich, religious city. The CM is on a two-day visit to Ayodhya.
At present, Ayodhya is witnessing implementation of projects worth Rs 32,000 crore covering various areas such as sewerage, water supply, roads, parking facilities, beautification initiatives, development of ghats, road infrastructure, and the establishment of a new airport.
Among the 44 projects inaugurated by the Chief Minister, five were under the urban development department, while 13 fell under the purview of the Public Works Department (PWD).
Additional departments involved in undertaking projects include health and family welfare (2), secondary education (5), housing and urban planning (13), tourism (2), Namami Gange, irrigation and water resources, panchayati raj, and Ayush (one each), reports Times of India.
The panchayati raj department has developed libraries and reading rooms in 500 gram panchayats which were inaugurated by the CM.
Furthermore, foundation stone for 38 projects were also laid by the CM.
These include expanding the Panchkosi Parikrama Marg — a 10.77km road, into a four-lane road. This expansion will be done at a cost of Rs 473.2 crore.
Another project focuses on widening the 14 Kosi Parikrama Marg — a 23.94km road, at a cost of Rs 1,140.2 crore.
Recent reports also show that the construction of the three-storey Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple at Ayodhya is also in full swing, with the ground floor work now entering the final phase.
