Cummins India, major engine and equipment manufacturer in India, on Monday was successfully certified BS-IV emission standard certification test for its new 4.5 litres wheel equipment engine system.
BS-IV norms for construction wheeled equipment are to be implemented from April 21, 2020. The company is much ahead of new implementation deadlines, this engine can be easily scaled for higher emission standards, BS-V and beyond. Company said in an opening statement.
“As India looks to boost its economy through infrastructure growth, we are all set to evolve from mechanical to new generation, fully electronic engine systems,” said Cummins India Managing Director Ashwath Ram. Reported Economic Times.
He further added, the new engine systems are powered by best in class technology, will ensure higher uptime, better total cost of ownership, easy installation, and cleaner emissions, hence superior value to end users.
Globally, more than one million BS-IV / Euro-VI, equivalent and higher emission standard vehicles are running with Cummings engine and after treatment system, Company said.
