Coinciding with the Baisakhi festival in April, IRCTC will launch the Guru Kirpa Yatra special service with the Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train, for pilgrims to visit Sikh shrines across the country.
The Bharat Gaurav Guru Kripa Yatra special train will consist of nine Sleeper Class coaches, one AC-3 Tier and one AC-2 Tier coach, one Pantry car and two generator coaches.
According to IRCTC, the service will be offering opportunities to pilgrims to visit Sikh shrines during the Baisakhi festival.
Tourists can visit places like Sri Kesgarh Sahib Gurdwara and Virasat-e-Khalsa at Anandpur Sahib, Gurdwara Sri Patalpuri Sahib at Kiratpur Sahib, Gurdwara Sri Fatehgarh Sahib at Sirhind, Sri Akal Takht Sahib and Sri Harmandir Sahib at Amritsar, Sri Damdama Sahib at Bathinda, Takht Sachkhand Sri Hazur Sahib at Nanded, Gurdwara Sri Guru Nanak Jhira Sahib at Bidar and Gurdwara Sri Harmandir Ji Sahib at Patna.
The special train will be launched in April for a — 11 days/10 nights all inclusive tour — which will start from Lucknow on 5 April 2023 and will end on 15 April 2023.
IRCTC is offering three categories of packages and the minimum package is to cost about Rs 19,999 per person.
Indian Railways is promoting the cultural and religious heritage of India through its fleet of Bharat Gaurav Tourist Trains, which are being operated on various famous theme-based circuits to showcase the rich cultural heritage of this great nation.
After detailed consultations with stakeholders at various levels, Indian Railways has specially conceived this tour to holy Sikh shrines located in different parts of the country.
Passengers can board or deboard at Lucknow, Sitapur, Pilibhit and Bareilly.
IRCTC will operate this train with a composition of nine Sleeper Class coaches, one AC-3 Tier and one AC-2 Tier coach, offering tour package across three categories — Standard, Superior and Comfort — with a total capacity of 678 passengers (with majority in the budget segment standard category).
The tour package offers comfortable rail journeys in ergonomically designed exclusive coaches, complete on-board and off-board meals, accommodation in quality hotels, complete road transfers along with sightseeing.
The services of tour escorts, travel insurance, on-board security and housekeeping will also be available.
The option to take part in Langars will also be available at important Gurdwaras, as well as, during the journey.
