For the civil construction of the Mysuru-Kushalnagar highway in Karnataka, about 11 firms have filed a total of 31 bids. The project will be built at a cost of Rs. 3,500 crores.
The bids are sent for technical evaluation by National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).
The 93-km Srirangapatna-Guddehosur National Highway will run parallel to the existing NH-275 and be constructed in two packages — from Srirangapatna to Periyapatna and Periyapatna to Guddehosur.
The access-controlled, four-lane Kushalnagar highway will link the Mysuru-Bengaluru Expressway and further reduce the travel time from Madikeri to Bengaluru.
A budget of Rs 909.86 crore has been recently allocated by the centre for this project.
The bidders for the project include DY Uppar and Sons, G R Infraprojects Ltd, HG Infra Engineering Ltd, IRB Infrastructure Developers Ltd, KNR Constructions Ltd, PNC Infratech Ltd, PSK Infrastructures and Projects Pvt. Ltd, Rajendra Singh Bhamboo Infra Pvt. Ltd.Ramalingam Construction Company Pvt. Ltd, RNS Infrastructure Ltd. Shankaranarayana Constructions Pvt. Ltd.
The highway will start from Bramhapura between Paschimavahini and Naguvanahalli near Srirangapatna and end at Anekadu near Kushalnagar.
The expanded highway will provide smooth connectivity and seamless travel from Bengaluru to Kushalnagar. Travellers will benefit immensely as the existing National Highway 275 has already reached its saturation point.
The Mysore – Kushalnagara Expressway project is part of the 115 km Mysuru – Madikeri Economic Corridor. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the project’s foundation stone in March.
In Phase 2, the project is planned to be extended from Madikeri to Bantwal, just east of Mangalore, reports themetrorailguy.
