442 Projects In Uttar Pradesh Included In Rs 100 Lakh Crore National Infrastructure Pipeline: Centre

As many as 442 projects in Uttar Pradesh have been included in the Rs 100 lakh crore National Infrastructure Pipeline, the Centre said on Tuesday (20 Juy).

The National Infrastructure Pipeline is a group of social and economic infrastructure projects in India over a period of five years with an initial sanctioned amount of Rs 102 lakh crore. The pipeline was first made public by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his 2019 Independence Day speech.

After PM Modi’s announcement, the Finance Ministry had set up a task force on the NIP, which submitted its report in April last year.

The task force has projected total infrastructure investment of above Rs 111 lakh crore during the period FY 2019-25.

Responding to a query in the Rajya Sabha, Union Minister of State in Finance Ministry Pankaj Chudhary in a written reply said that a total of 442 infrastructure projects in Uttar Pradesh have been included in the National Infrastructure Pipeline (NIP), with a total capital outlay of Rs 455,276 crore and total project cost of Rs 588,844 crore.

“Out of these 442 infrastructure projects, 330 projects with a total capital outlay of Rs 338,400 Crore for FY 2020-2025 will be taken in Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) mode by the Central Ministries/State of Uttar Pradesh, whereas 42 projects to be taken up in Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode with a capital outlay of Rs 71,790 Crore, for FY 2020-25 and two projects to be taken up under Individual Beneficiary Led Construction with a capital outlay of Rs 35,457 Crore for FY 2020-25,” the minister stated.
