Delhi Metro passengers will now get last-mile connectivity to their house through e-rickshaws. ETO motors in collaboration with Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited (DMRCL) has started e-rickshaw facility at selected stations.
Starting from 20 March 2020, this facility will be available at four stations. The agreement between ETO motors and Goenka Electric Motor Vehicle Private Limited tends to provide this facility in lesser populous areas.
The four stations to be provided with this facility are Yamuna Bank, Sukhdev Vihar, Jamia Milia Islamia and Jasola Vihar Shaheen Bagh. DMRCL will provide e-rickshaw parking, battery charging points and other facilities at these stations.
The chief executive officer of ETO Motors Biju Matthews informed that they have received a permission letter from DMRCL to start e-rickshaw service. He further said, “We are committed to providing passengers with clean and secure transportation.”
DMRCL has issued a guideline for the company. It is suggested that e-rickshaw drivers should be in uniform with a valid id card and license.
