Renault Exports Over 1 Lakh ‘Made In India’ Vehicles Including Kwid, Triber And Kiger

French automaker Renault on Wednesday (12 January) announced that it has achieved the milestone of exporting 1 lakh ‘Made in India’ vehicles from its plant in Tamil Nadu.

The company commenced local production at its manufacturing facility at Oragadam near Chennai back in 2010. However, the Indian subsidiary of the French carmaker began exporting ‘Made in India’ vehicles from 2012 onwards, starting with the Renault Duster SUV, reports Financial Express.

Later on, it started exporting other cars from the Tamil Nadu facility.

Renault’s made in India products KWID, TRIBER and the KIGER are currently exported to 14 international countries across SAARC, Asia Pacific, Indian Oceanic Region, South Africa and East Africa region, according to the company.

“This 1 lakh export milestone is a significant feat as it is a testament of our product focus that encompasses our expertise in constant innovation and in-depth knowledge of customer needs and reflects the customers’ confidence around the world in the quality, engineering and technology of our products,” Renault India senior executive Venkatram Mamillapalle was quoted in a company statement as saying.

The company also said that it will expand exports of ‘Made In India’ vehicles to other countries in the Africa and South East Asian Region soon.
