Exploring jointly in integrated infra services, RITES, a railways PSU, has joined hands with Tata Steel to synergise their expertise.
RITES, a leading transport infrastructure consultancy and engineering company, would collaborate with the steel major Tata Steel to offer services in the areas of railway rolling stock exports and enhance infrastructural capabilities for buildings, airports, urban engineering, and information technology.
Both would also explore capacity enhancement for urban mass rapid transport, including metro railway systems, for domestic and overseas markets.
Beginning a new chapter, the two big players have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) amid the presence of senior officials from both sides.
RITES and Tata Steel would collaborate to offer services in the areas of railway rolling stock exports and enhance infrastructural capabilities for buildings, airports, urban engineering, and information technology.
As part of the MoU, RITES will provide expertise in design, marketing, operation and maintenance, and support required for tapping domestic as well as overseas markets, while Tata Steel’s New Materials Business (NMB) division will undertake the development and manufacturing of customised products as per the clients’ requirements in coordination with RITES.
Having diversified services and a wide geographical reach, RITES is also the export arm of Indian Railways for providing rolling stock overseas.
