The development of industrial and commercial regions, particularly around the upcoming Noida International Airport, will be a key focus of the master plan.
The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) is set to implement its Master Plan 2041 by the end of September, which will facilitate development in the region.
Officials have confirmed that the plan is nearly finalised and will be presented for approval at the board meeting on 9 September. Once approved, the draft master plan will be officially notified, reports MoneyControl.
YEIDA, as the nodal agency, is responsible for executing projects and overseeing development along the 165-km Yamuna Expressway connecting Greater Noida with Agra. This includes residential, commercial, and industrial developments.
According to YEIDA officials, the draft master plan designates a total planning area of 58,397 hectares for YEIDA Phase-1. Out of this, 32,167 hectares of land can be developed for urban use, accommodating an estimated population of 35.51 lakh by 2041.
YEIDA is divided into two phases for planning and development purposes. Phase 1 encompasses 171 villages in Gautam Buddha Nagar and Bulandshahar districts, while Phase-2 covers the remaining area of YEIDA.
Further, the area surrounding the upcoming Noida International Airport in Jewar will be developed in accordance with Master Plan 2041.
The development of industrial and commercial regions, particularly around the upcoming Noida International Airport, will be the main focus of the master plan, according to Arun Vir Singh, CEO of YEIDA.
Affordable housing for industrial workers will also be given priority.
In February 2023, the state government included 55 villages from Khurja and Secunderabad tehsils of Bulandshahar district within the YEIDA area.
As a result, the agency responsible for the master plan was instructed to incorporate these newly added villages, as well as the Chola railway station, in order to promote planned and inclusive growth in the region.
The completion of including these villages and the railway station in the draft master plan has been announced by officials. The next step is to present it for approval at the board meeting.
