Delhi Metro To Provide Real-Time data On Waiting Time During Peak Hours  At Select Stations

DMRC (Delhi Metro Rail Corporation) will provide real time data during peak hours for average waiting time for few select stations.

The peak hours include morning 8:10 am to 10:30 am and evening 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm for the following 10 stations

  • Chandni Chowk
  • Chawri Bazar
  • Patel Chowk
  • Rajiv Chowk
  • Central Secretariat
  • Huda City Centre
  • Lal Quila
  • Barakhambha Road
  • JLN Stadium
  • Saket

Metro staff deployed at the above-mentioned stations will monitor situations and inform passengers regarding their waiting duration, and waiting time exceeding 20 minutes will be notified to commuters via DMRC Social media handles and other social medial handles.

The above stations for the initiative have been chosen on the same basis, stations witnessing heavy footfall during peak hours, where commuters had to wait longer and uninformed time.

This is enrolled on an experimental basis, based on its suitability and commuters’ feedback will be rolled out in other stations when deemed necessary.

DMRC has announced previously to have additional of 15 to 20 minutes in additional to their travel time, owing reasons to new travel norms in action since re-opening of metro on September 7th, wherein no. of commuters allowed in metro has been reduced to maintain social distancing.
