The first segment of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, the Sohna (Haryana) — Dausa (Rajasthan) section, will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 12 February 2023.
The Sohna-Dausa stretch will be a significant connectivity channel, that will reduce the travel duration, of the massive 270 km distance between Delhi and Jaipur — to two hours.

While providing easy connectivity, the project will also lead to an appreciation of property in the southern regions of Faridabad.
Sohna is located in the south of Gurugram and has been the core hub of development with the expansion of Gurugram city.
The region has experienced major transformation with development of advanced road infrastructure and luxury real estate through residential complexes, corporate parks and other sectors.
The connection with the highway will open the location to resources and investments from other states, connected through the expressway. It will establish Sohna as a multi-utility corridor connecting to different states like Delhi, Maharastra, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat.
The opening of the Sohna-Dausa stretch will enhance growth in not only one locality, but other developing parts of Gurugram as well.
Sohna is also located in proximity to other prominent realty belts in Gurugram, such as Golf Course Extension Road, Dwarka Expressway and the industrial hub Manesar.
All these regions are the thriving hubs for residential, corporate and commercial sectors that will receive greater exposure through expressway connectivity.
These areas have been a desirable choice for many to settle down when they move to Delhi or Gurugram, and is also preferred by many older residents of Delhi.
Furthermore, the stretch will also divert traffic load from busy, congested highways such as National Highway-8 (NH8) and the main Delhi-Gurugram-Jaipur corridor.
The Sohna-Dausa stretch is part of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, which is India’s longest expressway stretching 1,390 km.
This world-class highway project will directly link India’s national and financial capitals, Delhi and Mumbai, respectively, and reduce travel time between the two cities by half.
Once the project is completed, it will only take 12 hours to travel between Delhi and Mumbai.
The Delhi-Mumbai Expressway is being developed as part of the “Bharatmala Pariyojana”, the special highway sector program of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.
