The Telangana government will fund the entire Rs 6,250 crore project, with a 10 per cent contribution each from the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority and the GMR Hyderabad International Airport, Shamshabad.

Technical teams from 13 national and international companies, including L&T, Alstom, Siemens, Tata Projects, IRCON, RVNL, BEML, PANDROL Rahee technologies, and others, attended the meeting that was held in response to the global tenders invited for the selection of the EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) contractor for the project.

The majority of the preliminary work, such as surveying, peg marking, alignment fixation, and so on, has been accomplished, and soil testing is underway.

According to the most recent survey and alignment fixing, the distance between the Raidurg metro station and Airport terminal station will be 29.3 km elevated and 1.7 km underground.

Reddy emphasised that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and Minister for Municipal Administration K T Rama Rao are directly monitoring the progress of the project and hence, the timelines decided by the government by the selected EPC has to be maintained, reports The Hindu.
