UP: Flats Built In Prayagraj On Land Confiscated From Slain Gangster Atiq Ahmed To Be Soon Handed Over To PMAY Beneficiaries

The construction of flats being built on the land confiscated from slain gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed in Prayagraj is set to be completed soon, news agency ANI reported.

After the construction of the flats is completed, they will be handed over to the poor people.

The flats have been developed in two blocks of land that were confiscated from the slain gangster in 2021 in the Lukarganj area of Prayagraj City.

The Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath led Uttar Pradesh government has been constructing the houses for poor under Prime Minister Awas Yojna (PMAY) on the land that had been confiscated from the now slain gangster Atiq Ahmed.

CM Yogi had laid the foundation stone of the flats in December 2021.

The construction work on the 1731 square meters of land freed from the possession of mafia Atiq Ahmed in Lukarganj is going on at a fast pace and this building is being prepared with better quality and the best safety standards. It will also provide parking facilities for people, community halls and common areas, reports Firstpost.

Notorious gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed, has been shot dead in Prayagraj, eastern UP, along with his brother, Ashraf.

The shooting took place while the duo was being taken to the Prayagraj Medical College for a medical scan. They were shot when near the college itself.

Three shooters, who have since been arrested, were captured on live television raining bullets on Ahmed and his brother Ashraf.
