Redevelopment Of Uttar Pradesh’s Gomti Nagar Railway Station In Full Swing

Continuing with the station redevelopment initiative, work at Gomti Nagar railway station project in Lucknow has picked up speed to make it a world class rail premise.

Keeping the future growth of Lucknow city in mind, the Rs 350 crore Gomti Nagar station redevelopment project has been finalised to cater to the growing traffic of the city.

While the design of the station is being finalised by the architect CP Kukreja, contractor BL Kashyap has been awarded the project.

The redeveloped station would come up at 2,380 sq m area with all modern amenities including food court, retiring rooms and Waiting Lounge.

As per the plan, there will be two terminal buildings at Gomti Nagar station. While the North Terminal will be three-storey building, South Terminal will be two-storey building.

In order to regulate the crowd, arrival and departure pf passengers have been kept separate like airport.

There will be separate arrival and departure terminal in the station.The ground floor will be for arrival and the first floor will be for departure of passengers.

The redeveloped station will have 13 escalators and 14 lifts for passengers.

The station will be equipped with a centralised AC shopping complex with separate lift and escalator facilities and adequate parking lots at basements and upper floors.

The station will be linked with an 460 metre elevated road to decongest the traffic flow.

While the North Terminal work is almost complete, the south terminal work will commence soon. The redeveloped Gomti Nagar station is expected to ready by 2024.
