On Thursday, the National Cancer Institute Nagpur unveiled the second phase of its state-of-the-art facility, with the objective of offering affordable and top-quality cancer treatment.

The inauguration was attended by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat, and industrialist Gautam Adani.

Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde and deputy Devendra Fadnavis also attended the event.

Shailesh Joglekar, CEO of the institute, gave the guests a tour of the facility, explaining its vision, mission, and design, offering advanced diagnostic and therapeutic services, reported NDTV.

At the event, which drew a crowd of over 5,000 individuals, Mr. Joglekar restated the National Cancer Institute’s aim of establishing a welcoming atmosphere for patients.

“From Day 1 we had decided that NCI should not look like a hospital, smell like a hospital and feel like a hospital,” he said.

The institute credited Fadnavis, who had envisioned the project during his tenure as chief minister, and he commended the institute for its affordable services.
